What CommunicateAAC is
CommunicateAAC is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tool that speaks words and sentences a user composes. Access starts with a 7-day free trial (card required, nothing charged during the trial), then costs $9.99 per year. Every purchase includes a second full copy to give to someone who needs a voice.
What it is not
It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and does not replace evaluation or therapy by a qualified speech-language pathologist or physician. Caregivers are responsible for supervising use, and for verifying that messages (including AI-suggested sentences, which always require the user's confirmation) express what the user intends.
Emergencies
Do not rely on the app as the only means of summoning emergency help. Device volume, battery, and hardware failures are outside our control.
Supporter plan and gifts
The optional Supporter plan unlocks additional convenience features and, when gifted, provides those features to the recipient you designate (or the next family on our waitlist). Gifts are a product purchase, not a charitable donation, and are not tax-deductible. Subscriptions begin with a 7-day free trial; cancel anytime during the trial (self-serve, from your receipt page or Stripe email) and you pay nothing. After the trial the subscription renews yearly at $9.99 until you cancel, which you can do at any time — access then continues to the end of the paid period.
Gift codes are single-use and activate for the first device that opens them, after which they are permanently locked to that device and cannot be transferred, resold, or redeemed again. Gift codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card details. If a purchase fails to activate, contact us and we will make it right.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to harass or harm others, or attempt to disrupt the service. Symbols include Mulberry Symbols (CC BY-SA 4.0).
Warranty & liability
The app is provided "as is," without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months.
